“Swimming Is My Passion
And I Love Sharing It With You!”
Mission
Mermaid Amethyst mission is to instill a love and lifelong relationship with the water and world around us, in a fun and safe environment that educates children and adults about the importance of the Earth and Ocean conservation.
Swimming For A Mission
Swimming is lots of fun for people of all ages and children especially love getting in the water and enjoying themselves. Swimming is more than just fun though, it also provides loads of health benefits which can help to keep your children healthy and happy at the same time. Swimming keeps your child’s heart and lungs healthy, improves strength and flexibility, increases stamina and even improves balance and posture. Swimming provides challenges and rewards accomplishments, which can help children to become self-confident and believe in their abilities. Learning to swim also opens up the door to a range of other activities that they may want to try once they feel confident in the water.
Due to the unfortunate fact that unintentional drowning is still one of the most common causes of accidental death in children world wide, swimming is an essential life-saving skill.
Remember, you can’t always be there, and making sure they learn how to swim may save their life one day!!!
“Be Caring & Be Kind, Take Care The Ocean It’s My Home!”
A Mission For Earth
Mermaid Amethyst promotes Earth and Ocean conservation awareness such as the dangers of pollution and the damage that plastic is causing to our oceans and beautiful marine life. Up to 90% of ocean plastic pollution starts on land and enters the ocean through river mouths. Plastic accumulates on the ground, rain and floods wash it into rivers and canals then carry it to the ocean affecting our marine life. Sea animals are ingesting and getting tangled in ocean plastic at an alarming rate. Some species are being driven to extinction by plastic pollution. About 100,000 marine mammals are killed by plastic pollution every year. Many communities who rely on the ocean’s bounty for their livelihoods are finding it harder to find fish among the plastic and have few alternatives to earn a living. If we keep producing (and failing to properly dispose of) plastics at predicted rates, plastics in the ocean will outweigh fish pound for pound by the year 2050, this means there will be more plastic than fish found in the ocean if we don’t do something about it. There are currently 150 million tons of plastic in our seas, and as a ocean conservation brand ambassador it is Mermaid Amethyst mission and responsibility to bring awareness and to teach people and our kids of the importance of keeping our earth and oceans safe from plastic pollution.
